3D Printed Nissen Huts
Nissen huts first came into use in 1916 in middle of WW1, but are probably more associated with WW2, especially airfields. Three widths were used initially, 16ft, 20ft and 24ft, and standard length was 36ft. They could be lengthened easily.
Many military, civilian and railway uses. Even used as engine sheds for narrow gauge.
Producing the curved corrugations is not easy, real and model, so 3D printing can be very effective, especially as both sides of corrugated iron are present.
Panels for 16ft wide hut are done in scale 6ft sections enabling various combinations to be assembled.
